      A victim of corporate downsizing, Dana Lewis has returned to her small northern California hometown with her marketing degree, grateful to have a temporary position with a new spa resort. It's the grand opening weekend, and the required spa elements are in place: yoga instructor, snooty attitudes, and health food. The coup of having a movie producer as a guest is overshadowed by his murder. Dana cannot help but investigate since the spa owner is her mom's friend. When a second victim turns up, it's time to watch her own back. Among the yoga instructor, the producer's ex-wife, the personal assistant, and the aspiring actress, Dana's list of suspects runs long. VERDICT This series debut features the familiar theme of the young career woman who goes home to the small town she never expected to miss, but the trendy setting creates an effective closed-room mystery. A touch of madcap fun mixed with family humor makes for a fun, light read.
